KING OF PRUSSIA PA – Bridge deck repair work by contractors for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, scheduled to begin Monday (June 29, 2015) on U.S. Route 422 East between its Collegeville-Phoenixville (Route 29) and Trooper Road (Route 363) interchanges, will limit traffic to one lane during evenings and overnights through July 9 (Thursday), the agency announced.
Eastbound lane restrictions will be in force along portions of the highway in Upper Providence Township nightly from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., except during the Independence Day holiday. Crews won’t work there from Thursday (July 2) through the following Monday (July 6), but will resume July 7 (Tuesday).
The work is part of PennDOT’s $2.8 million project, fully financed by state funds, to repair bridge decks and seal joints on 33 bridges in Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties. It’s intended to help preserve and maintain the bridges. Eastern Highway Specialists Inc. of Wilmington DE is the general contractor. The job is expected to finish by November.
Similar work will be done during the same period on Butler Avenue between Burpee Road and Progress Drive in Doylestown Township, Bucks County, PennDOT noted in a press release issued Friday (June 26).
