Expect Restrictions This Week On 422 And 29

KING OF PRUSSIA PA – Drivers on U.S. Route 422 can expect lane closures this week (Wednesday and Thursday, July 15 and 16, 2015) for what the King of Prussia district office of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation described as routine bridge inspections.

Similar restrictions will occur today (Monday, July 13) on Route 29 in Lower Frederick Township; and also Friday (July 17) on Route 29 in Pennsburg.

  • Potentially the greatest number of affected motorists will be found mid-week on 422. The right lane will be closed both Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on westbound 422 between the Route 363-Trooper Road and Oaks interchanges;
  • Today (Monday) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. there will be a lane closure on southbound Route 29 (Gravel Pike) between Memorial Drive and Delphi Road in Lower Frederick; and
  • On Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. the right lane will be closed on southbound Route 29 (Main Street) between Buck Road and 11th Street in Pennsburg.

The inspections will depend on the weather. They are part of PennDOT’s program to inspect state bridges for safety and overall condition at least once every two years.
