New 422 Lane Closures Beginning Sunday

KING OF PRUSSIA PA – Bridge pier repairs on U.S. Route 422 will reduce traffic from two lanes to one in both directions during overnight hours, beginning Sunday and continuing through next Friday (July 19-24, 2015) near its Route 363-Trooper Road interchange, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation District 6 office announced.

East- and westbound left lane closures on 422 will occur as crews install temporary barriers on the inside shoulder. It’s part of the operation to repair a pier supporting the overhead Route 363 bridge, according to a Thursday (July 16) press release. The work will be done nightly from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., PennDOT reported.

Construction schedules depend on the weather.

The effort is included in PennDOT’s $16.8 million project to widen 363 and build two additional access ramps to improve travel there. J.D. Eckman Inc. of Atglen is the general contractor.
