Time Grows Short For Tax Installment Plan

WHY NOT PAY IT IN PIECES? – Property taxes owed to the Pottsgrove School District, the bills for which were mailed July 1 (2015; Wednesday), aren’t officially due until Oct. 31. And if you pay them in full by Aug. 31 you can earn a 2-percent off the face amount, saving some home owners between tens and hundreds of dollars. But if you’d like to pay the bill in more manageably-sized pieces (three roughly equal payments), your opportunity for a tax installment plan will expire Saturday (Aug. 15). It’s the only such chance offered, and no discount is provided because the full amount will still be paid by October. The “First Installment” amount indicated on your tax bill is the sum to be paid and postmarked (if you mail it) by or on Saturday’s due date. Lower Pottsgrove residents with questions can call Treasurer Jennifer Marsteller at 610-326-6960.
