Work’s Not Done, But Pleasant View Open

lower pottsgrove township: Work's Not Done, But Pleasant View Open

DETOUR NO MORE; NORTH PLEASANT VIEW ROAD OPEN – Lower Pottsgrove public works chief John Fogel reports that North Pleasant View Road between Buchert Road and Foxtail Drive in the township would again be opened to traffic Thursday (Aug. 13, 2015), even though work there to install a new drainage culvert beneath the highway isn’t yet complete. Township and Pennsylvania Department of Transportation crews were busy putting a temporary asphalt covering on the road (top) during early evening hours Wednesday (Aug. 12) to allow traffic movement. It took about 13 hours to dig up (above) and remove the old and deteriorated metal culvert (below), and substitute a longer-lasting and more durable replacement (bottom). Crews still must add concrete to secure the pipe on either side of the road and then, in a few days, replace the temporary asphalt patch with a permanent one, Fogel said.
