State Road Re-Paving Still In Motion

PENNDOT STILL AT WORK ON TOWNSHIP RE-PAVING – A Pottsgrove School District bus drove west Monday (Sept. 21, 2015) on Buchert Road, enjoying a smoother ride in its lane than did eastbound traffic (on the right) that felt the bumpiness of a milled and unfinished highway. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation had, according to Lower Pottsgrove Township, hoped to start and finish re-paving portions of Pleasant View and Buchert roads last week (Sept. 16-17). Both are state-owned highways. PennDOT Community Relations Coordinator Charles Metzger reported via e-mail that although state crews had already begun milling work – removing old asphalt in preparation for a new surface – paving would be delayed. Agency employees expect to be busy this week repairing the base as needed on both roads, Metzger said, “and will resurface the roadways the week of Sept. 28 (Monday), weather permitting.”
