Ribbon-Cutting Opens Althouse Arboretum

A LONG RIBBON, A LONG TIME COMING – Althouse Arboretum, an educational park project made possible in part though cooperative efforts of Upper Pottsgrove Township, the non-profit Green Allies organization, and the Pottsgrove High School Spark The Wave Club observed its grand opening Saturday (Sept. 26, 2015) after years of planning, land clearing, trail development, and other hard work. Township Board of Commissioners’ President Elwood Taylor praised the collaboration during the ceremony, noting good things get done when people and government work together. A lengthy grand opening ribbon held by representatives of the many participants involved was cut to officially open the location, even though it’s been filled with activity over many earlier months.
