Greaseband Back For Meals On Wheels Show

SANATOGA PA – The Fabulous Greaseband, a seven-member nostalgic dance-party band and concert attraction, returns Saturday (Oct. 3, 2015) to Sunnybrook Ballroom for the annual Meals on Wheels fundraising event. Advance sale tickets are available now.

The Fabulous Greaseband features male and female lead vocals in a front trio backed by a group of instrumentalists. It performs extensively along the East Coast, with its popularity centered between Washington DC and New York City. Its highly entertaining and energetic members have delivered some of the greatest songs ever written for more than 30 years.

Funds raised from the event benefit the Montgomery County Family Services’ Meals on Wheels program. Each weekday, Meals on Wheels provides two meals, a hot lunch and a cold supper to refrigerate, to an average of 150 home-bound elderly individuals in Pottstown, Royersford and the Lower Perkiomen Valley. Community volunteers personally deliver approximately 82,900 meals a year.

“Thanks to the community’s on-going support of our fundraising efforts, we are able to serve area seniors who turn to our program in times of need,” said Ruth Hood, Meals on Wheels program director. As the senior population in the western portion of Montgomery County continues to grow, it strives to ensure no senior goes to bed hungry, she said.

Doors open for Saturday’s show at 7 p.m.; the performance begins at 8. A cash beverage and snack bar will be open. In addition, there will be a 50-50 drawing and several raffle items.

General admission tickets cost $25, and a limited number of eight-seat reserved tables are available. Tickets may be purchased weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Family Services’ Sanatoga office, 1976 E. High St. Cash, checks and credit cards are accepted. For more information or to buy tickets, call Hood at 610-326-1610 Ext. 336 or e-mail her here.

Event sponsors include Exelon’s Limerick Generating Station, BTC Foods, Pottstown Memorial Medical Center, and Wendy’s restaurant in Royersford.
