POTTSTOWN PA – Two executive sessions that reportedly dealt with continuing labor contract negotiations have been held within the past 12 days by the Pottsgrove Board of School Directors, board President Justin Valentine reported during its meeting Tuesday night (Sept. 29, 2015).
A session devoted solely to discussions of contract talks was held Sept. 17 (2015; Saturday), Valentine said. A second meeting to address both negotiations and personnel matters was held immediately after Tuesday’s meeting. The district is working to forge a new agreement with the Pottsgrove Education Association, its teachers’ union.
No action resulting from either meeting was announced.
Board discussions of some legal and personnel matters are allowed by state law in closed-door meetings, not attended by the public, under certain circumstances. Official action on any topic must be made only in public meetings.
