NORRISTOWN PA – Two Pottstown residents, and one in Limerick, were among 17 offenders arrested during an early Wednesday morning (Oct. 21, 2015) raid by Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies for a variety of violent felonies, domestic violence charges, and non-payment of child support as part of a national effort to crack down on family violence, Sheriff Russell J. Bono said.
Among those taken to the county Correctional Facility in Eagleville PA, according to a press release on the sheriff arrests, were:
- Kemp Josey of 593 N. York St., Apt. 107, Pottstown, wanted by the Domestic Relations Office for non-payment of child support and owing $6,788.68 for one child;
- Joshua Ledford of 453 South St., Apt. 2, Pottstown, charged with aggravated assault and probation violation; and
- Christopher Marion of 2403 Hunsberger Dr., Limerick, wanted by the Domestic Relations Office for non-payment of child support and owing $5,935.51 for one child.
The overnight raid represented the county’s participation in the 13th annual National Family Violence Apprehension Detail. The national sweep is a collaborative effort that includes about 250 law enforcement agencies in 26 states. It intends to raise awareness of the problem of family and domestic violence, and show offenders that they will be held accountable, Bono said.
“Every day, distraught domestic violence victims come to our office to have their protection orders served by our deputies in an effort to stop the abuse,” he added. “In some cases, our deputies are asked to escort the victims throughout the courthouse, or to their car out of fear of confronting their abusers during court hearings. We continue to serve these victims with compassion, and do anything else we can to support them.”
