Santa, during his cruise in an earlier year with the crew from Ringing Hill
SANATOGA PA – Lower Pottsgrove’s two volunteer fire companies will be busy this weekend with holiday activities geared toward township families.
Both the Sanatoga and Ringing Hill companies will conduct their annual Santa runs, in which Santa Claus (or a reasonable facsimile thereof) rides atop their fire trucks as they drive across portions of the township.
- Sanatoga plays host to St. Nick on Saturday (Dec. 19) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; a list of its scheduled stops appears below.
- Ringing Hill escorts Santa around the township’s northern half on Sunday (Dec. 20) beginning at 11 a.m.
He’ll wave to those who wave or blow their vehicles’ horns at him, perhaps toss a candy or two to deserving boys and girls and, most importantly, supervise the pick-up of food items donated to the township annual food drive. If you’ve got items to contribute, flag down one of the auxiliary vehicles following Santa; volunteers will be happy to collect and deliver them to the municipal building.
Looking ahead, Ringing Hill’s Kim Lightcap reports it will conduct a night of special bingo games with three jackpots throughout the night, open to the public, on New Year’s Eve (Dec. 31). Doors for the event at the firehouse, 815 White Pine Ln., Pottstown, will open at 4:30 p.m. The games begin at 6:30.
