POTTSTOWN PA – If their promotion is this much fun, think what the coming entertainment might be like.
Pottsgrove High School students aired an in-school video commercial Wednesday (Dec. 16, 2015), as part of its daily announcements, inviting the public to a live entertainment coffeehouse being conducted by biology students as a fund-raiser for their annual spring trip to Wallops Island VA.
The show, scheduled for Jan. 8 (2016; Friday) at the high school, 1345 Kauffman Rd., features coffee (of course) and other refreshments, and a variety of performances by students themselves. Tickets cost $5; call the school at 610-326-5105 for more information.
The proceeds help make possible the Pottsgrove School District’s yearly trek to the Chincoteague Bay Field Station on Virginia’s Eastern Shore. Once there, students get first-hand experience dealing with marine life, and learn more about concepts in the biological, chemical, and physical sciences.
The minute-long commercial, replete with coffee mug jokes – as well as another 5 minutes of school-related news, sports results, a weather report, and the daily Pledge of Allegiance – all are part of a regular morning broadcast created by students in the district’s Studio 403 video production facility, and then posted to its Vimeo channel.
