Lower Pottsgrove Commissioners’ President Bruce Foltz, left, and Vice President Stephen Klotz, during the board’s Dec. 17 meeting
SANATOGA PA – Who, if anyone, will sit in the solicitor’s chair when the Lower Pottsgrove Board of Commissioners meets tonight (Monday, Jan. 4, 2016) at 7 p.m. in the municipal building at 2199 Buchert Rd.?
That’s been a tantalizing question for observers of township politics during the past three weeks, following the abrupt resignation Dec. 17 (2015) of attorney Robert Brant from the solicitor’s job. Brant, who cited conflicts with township Manager Ed Wagner as the reason for his departure, had served two years in the position and earlier served for many years as solicitor for the Zoning Hearing Board.
Brant’s successor may be introduced by the Board of Commissioners when it convenes its meeting. The event is free to attend and open to the public. An agenda for the session, usually available for download from the township website, had not been posted as of Monday at 6 a.m.
Besides expressions of surprise, neither Wagner or the board’s five members have commented on the Brant resignation since it was tendered.
If a new solicitor appointment is to be made tonight, it may be part of annual resolutions that identify the board’s officers, committees and their members, conference groups and professional advisors. The board also is likely to approve advertising all board and commission meetings for the coming year.
