SANATOGA PA – Lower Pottsgrove police expect to file charges “in the near future” against two juveniles whom they allege attempted to burglarize a home late last month (Dec. 22, 2015) in the 900 block of Ivy Lane, according to Police Chief Michael Foltz.
Foltz acknowledged department detectives are continuing their investigation into the case, in a report issued last week to the township Board of Commissioners. But he added they “have developed evidence in the case” he finds encouraging.
The names of the youths have not been released.
Sgt. Timothy Walters reported police were alerted to the burglary-in-progress during the early afternoon of Dec. 22. A female resident who was alone in the home at the time said she heard its doorbell ring, then looked out a second-story window to see a male subject on its front porch. When she did not answer the front door, a second male apparently entered shortly after through an unsecured rear door, the sergeant indicated.
The two later escaped, and the woman was left unharmed. Pottstown police responded to an alert from the township and found the juveniles in question, who matched descriptions offered by the victim, walking along Franklin Street. They attempted to flee but were caught and detained.
