Zoning Hearing Set For Detached Building

SANATOGA PA – The request of a Lower Pottsgrove property owner to erect an “accessory pole building” on his land to serve as “a garage and workshop” will be considered by the township Zoning Hearing Board when it meets Jan. 26 (2016; Tuesday) at 6 p.m. in the municipal building, 2199 Buchert Rd.

Owner James E. Crawford is scheduled to ask board members to grant a variance that would allow construction of the detached building at 2385 Southview Dr. on the township’s east side, according to a legal advertisement published last week on the board’s behalf. Because the property is located in an R-2 residential district and the building would be larger than 600 square feet, it requires a special exception.

The meeting is free to attend and open to the public. “Any person or parties interested” is commenting about the project “will be given full opportunity to be heard,” the advertisement promised. Other business also may be conducted by the board if it deems necessary.

Before the hearing, the board plans to conduct its annual organizational meeting as required by law.
