THE FLAG IS TELLING YOU SOMETHING – Weather forecasters say wind is one of the factors that most often influences local weather. Depending on its direction and speed, experts often rely on wind to predict how warm or cold, humid or dry, and mild or fierce weather might be tomorrow or in coming days. On Thursday morning (Feb. 11, 2016), it was being kept aloft by winds blowing northeast at up to 6 mph, according to Weather.com. Wind speeds are likely to increase during the weekend, making temperatures in the 20s seem even chillier, the website added.
