In Just 10 Seconds: Chilled, But Happy

ENDURING THE COLD WITH SMILES – Katie Harner, right, and her daughter Haley spent two cold hours Saturday (Feb. 13, 2016) in their car at Ringing Rocks Elementary School, on Kauffman Road in Lower Pottsgrove, as they distributed Krispy Kreme-brand donuts to buyers in a recent school Parent-Teacher Association fund-raiser. The outside temperature was only 15 bitter degrees. A gusting 30-mph wind chilled it even more, and regrettably also obscured some of the audio. You can see young Haley, fashionable in shades, obligingly point to the boxes of glazed goodies, more than 100 of them!, that were offered at $10 a box. Katie chaired this particular effort, but off-camera she praised the PTA leadership, volunteers and supporters who made it a success. After all, she noted, it takes a lot of help to move more than a hundred boxes of donuts. The proceeds are used by the PTA to sponsor special activities, like January’s well-received Family Fun Night.
