LOWER POTTSGROVE PA – The proposed 2016-2017 academic year calendar for the Pottsgrove School District has been post online at its website and is ready for public review and comment.
Members of the Board of School Directors last week promised to make the calendar available, ahead of its formal adoption, so parents and others could see and make suggestions about it. Announcement of the draft version appears today (March 1, 2016) as the topmost item beneath the “Pottsgrove Headlines” banner on the web home page.
Its notable dates:
- Schools would open Sept. 6, designated as the first student day of class;
- Parent-teacher conference days are set aside for Nov. 21-22, and March 6 (2017);
- Blocks of days set aside as “testing windows” across various grades are Dec. 5-16, Jan. 9-23 (2017), and May 15-26 for Keystone exams; and April 3-7 (2017), April 24-28, and May 1-12 for PSSA exams; and
- Schools would close June 14 (2017), designated as the last day for students and staff.
The calendar may be revised depending on feedback the board and administration receive, or could be approved as-is during the directors’ March 8 meeting.
