GOING FOR THE GLITTER -Several crowds of distinctly aged children, including those who were just toddlers to those over 6, took their places Saturday morning (March 19, 2016) on the fields at Gerald Richards Park on Buchert Road in Sanatoga, as the Lower Pottsgrove Parks and Recreation Board held its annual Easter egg hunt. The winds out on the mowed plains were brisk, and the temperatures were downright chilly. Kids and parents alike braved the elements anyway, as the youngsters in the egg hunt scrambled into marked circles on the field where multi-colored plastic eggs lay waiting to be discovered. In some circles there were up to five glitter-colored eggs; they carried tokens that could be awarded for special prizes to the lucky finders. Several township officials and employees were on hand to either supervise or shepherd the participants during the smoothly run proceedings, and they were assisted by many volunteers from Pottsgrove High School sports teams. The event also included a bunny hop sack race. And, of course, the Easter Bunny was there too, posing for photos and high-fiving any nearby boy or girl.
