Townships’ Fire Crews Worked Hard Sunday

WHILE YOU ENJOYED SUNDAY, THEY PRACTICED – Members of Lower Pottsgrove’s Ringing Hill Fire Company (that’s its Tanker 59, above) worked Sunday (Aug. 7, 2016) alongside volunteers from other fire companies – Upper Pottsgrove, Gilbertsville (below), New Hanover, Earl Township, Paoli, and Eastern Berks – in a 16-hour course beneath the August summer sun. Together they trained to keep local property owners safe when fire hydrants are unavailable. The tanker water supply training emphasized transporting water from natural sources to man-made pools, where it could be tapped by pumpers to put out a blaze. The assembled group (bottom) offered satisfied grins when their day was done.
