LOWER POTTSGROVE PA – Before local travelers depart for the spring holiday, they’ll deal next Tuesday and Wednesday (April 12-13, 2017) with the effects of continued bridge construction on U.S. Route 422 across the township.
The left lane of westbound 422, between the Sanatoga and Armand Hammer interchanges, is scheduled to close for bridge work from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on both days, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation reported. Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the area.
The contractor’s schedule depends on the weather, it added.
The work is part of PennDOT’s $73.3 million project to rebuild 1.6 miles of 422 between the Sanatoga and Route 724 interchanges, and construct new bridges over the Schuylkill River and Norfolk Southern railroad tracks. The project is scheduled to finish in October 2018.
