Local Applebee’s Owner Wins State Award

POTTSTOWN PA – The company that owns and operates Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar restaurants in Pottstown and Royersford, and 54 others across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland, has received the 2017 Restaurant Neighbor Award for charitable and philanthropic work from the Pennsylvania Restaurant and Lodging Association.

The Rose Group, headquartered in Newtown PA, was one of four state winners in the category honored by the association during an April 4 dinner in Harrisburg. The firm said it is the 55th largest restaurant franchise company in the United States. Its win at the state level now enters it for competition among other states’ winners in a similar contest sponsored by the National Restaurant Association.

The most recent award represents the company’s sixth consecutive year as a category victor. “Our team is passionate about serving the communities in which we work. Helping provide for our neighbors wherever we can is at the core of our mission as team and organization,” company Chairman Harry Rose said. “I commend our folks for working as diligently as they have for this award.”

The state association noted that many western Montgomery County organizations have benefited from Rose’s sponsorship of “Flapjack Fundraiser” pancake breakfasts at its 70 Buckwalter Rd., Royersford, and 833 N. State St., Pottstown, locations.
