Pottsgrove Opens Gym For Girls’ Volleyball

LOWER POTTSGROVE PA – Girls who attend Pottsgrove High School and who are interested in playing for its first volleyball team are encouraged to attend any one or all of three open sessions to be held during the next two months at the high school gym, 1345 Kauffman Rd.

School district Director of Athletics Gary DeRenzo said the sessions will be held on three Saturdays – May 13, June 3, and June 10 – from 10 a.m. to noon each day. Participants are welcome to hear about the new program, the team’s plans, and the Falcons’ potential competitors, as well as to practice and demonstrate their skills.

The district Board of School Directors, at the urging of President Matt Alexander, voted last October to add girls’ volleyball and co-ed bowling as the district’s newest sports for 2017-2018 in the 12-school Pioneer Athletic Conference. Eight of those will compete against Pottsgrove as it begins play.
