Arrest Warrant Issued In Gun, Drugs Case

SANATOGA PA – Lower Pottsgrove police have issued a felony warrant for the arrest of Corey Omar Ford, 29, of 221 Rolling Hills Apartments, on a variety of drug- and weapons-related charges that involve a silver-colored minivan which Ford allegedly owns, the department reported this week in a public information release.

He faces charges of carrying firearms without a license, possession of prohibited firearms, possession of a regulated controlled substance, manufacture or delivery of drugs or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, and 15 counts of use or possession of drug paraphernalia, according to court records.

Ford “failed to turn himself in to police after being notified of the warrant,” the department said, and public help is being sought to locate him.

The charges stem from a response April 14 (2017; Friday) at about 10:50 p.m. by township police officers to a call at the Rolling Hills apartment complex regarding a suspicious silver minivan “being occupied by a man who was in possession of a gun,” Ofc. James McCue wrote in the release. Upon their arrival, police found a silver Ford Windstar occupied by four males, McCue added.

Police alleged “there was a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, and also claimed they witnessed “several marijuana cigars and packaging” inside. They also searched the van and discovered several packages of marijuana, as well as a black .22-caliber handgun, police alleged.

During a Monday (May 1) meeting with Lower Pottsgrove commissioners, police Chief Michael Foltz said a quantity of the marijuana was packaged for sale, and also that the seized handgun was loaded and had been reported stolen.

The officers’ investigation showed Ford to be the owner of the van.
