LOWER POTTSGROVE PA – It’s getting toward that time when the fragrance of mid-year flowers fills the air, the cool waters of swimming pools beckon, and disappointed children ask, “Why do I hafta go to summer school?”
The Pottsgrove Board of School Directors reinforced the inevitability of the latter during its meeting Tuesday (May 9, 2017), when it approved personnel actions related to summer school classes the Pottsgrove School District intends to conduct in coming months. Directors agreed to hire 20 professional staff members as summer school and extended school year teachers, effective June 26.
They are Maria Leidy, Terri Keeley, Jaime Harle, John Shantz, Karen Raifsnyder, Brian Sheehan, Paige Petrillo, Jason Gault, Colleen Ryan, Jim Algeo, Marilyn Eaton, Marc Rudolph, Kellie Natale, James Dargan, Kelly Reilly, Amy Cantymagli, Kara Ciaverelli, Erin Greusel, Lindsey Place, and Ruth Wells. Each will be compensated at the rate of $33.50 hourly through June 30, and $34 hourly beginning July 1.
Business Administrator David Nester reminded directors that summer school participants pay fees to the district for their attendance.
