LIMERICK PA – The first of two semi-annual tests of emergency warning sirens for the Limerick Generating Station, operated by Exelon Corp. at 3146 Sanatoga Rd., is scheduled to be held June 5 (2017; Monday) at 2 p.m. across all 165 sirens located within a 10-mile radius of the plant, the company announced.
The tests are conducted during June and December of each year. The sirens will be purposely loud, as they will be activated by Montgomery County emergency management personnel and tested at full volume.
The sirens are not a signal to evacuate but a warning to tune to a local Emergency Alert Broadcast television or radio station, Exelon noted.
