RELAY YEAR 21, BACK IN POTTSGROVE – The annual Relay For Life of Pottstown fund-raiser benefiting American Cancer Society research and local assistance will return to the running track in Pottsgrove High School stadium, Kauffman Road, Lower Pottsgrove, during June 2018, the district Board of School Directors unanimously agreed Tuesday (June 13, 2017). Relay representatives, including this year’s grand marshal Russ Oister (at top), publicly thanked board members during their meeting for their continued support. Oister (below) personally presented each director with a souvenir booklet that included information on each of this year’s Relay teams. Director Rick Rabinowitz, who earlier during the academic year was among directors who raised questions about how Relay funds were spent nationally, offered the motion to invite the event to return. Directors said cancer society officials who met with them a few months ago satisfactorily addressed their issues and clarified misunderstandings.
