Local Charities Benefit From Diamond Campaign

Smiling faces at the Olivet Boys and Girls Club receive a Diamond Credit Union donation

LOWER POTTSGROVE PA – Three non-profit organizations that serve the greater Pottstown area – the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, KenCrest EmployNET, and the Olivet Boys and Girls Club – were among the beneficiaries of a new member promotional campaign conducted by Diamond Credit Union, headquartered on Medical Drive in Lower Pottsgrove.

Between April and June, new credit union members and those who referred them each got to choose a charitable group that would receive $10 donations in their names after a new checking account was opened. Other organizations selected included the Greater Berks Food Bank, HeartSAFE Berks County, and the Animal Rescue League of Berks County.

Because it was most often chosen, the animal rescue league also received an additional donation from credit union members. Overall the promotion raised $2,500.

“We had so much fun with this promotion,” credit union President and CEO John Faust said. “We choose organizations to support that make an impact in our local serving area, and we loved hearing the stories of why members chose to support a specific organization. The only thing better was seeing the excited faces when we dropped off the donation checks.”
