Structural Steel Rising At Coventry Christian

ON THE WAY UP – Structural steel is rising behind Coventry Christian Schools, 699 N. Pleasant View Rd., Sanatoga, as contractors (above) for the faith-based private school erect a 12,600-square-foot addition to its gymnasium and events center. Workers were busy Thursday (July 27, 2017) using a crane (at top) to hoist several roof beams into place. Men on raised platforms grabbed handle-like extensions attached to the metal and literally wrestled it against supporting columns (below), then securely attached each piece (bottom). The addition is intended to give the school more room for gym use, a science lab, and a much-needed storage area, its representatives earlier told the township Planning Commission and Board of Commissioners. Both boards approved the project. During the past academic year Coventry Christian said it had an enrollment of about 400 students.
