LOWER POTTSGROVE PA – While U.S. Route 422 drivers deal today (Thursday, Aug. 3, 2017) with construction-related westbound lane closures between its Sanatoga and Armand Hammer Blvd. exits in Lower Pottsgrove, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said it also wants them to contemplate similar eastbound restrictions planned for mid-August.
Eastbound 422 motorists will encounter a right-lane closure Aug. 14 and 15 (Monday and Tuesday) from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily between the Route 724 and Sanatoga interchanges in the township, also anticipated for construction of the project to rebuild 1.6 miles of the highway and build new bridges over the Schuylkill River and Norfolk Southern railroad tracks.
As usual, drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area. The schedule of contractor J.D. Eckman Inc. of Atglen PA depends on the weather.
