CLOSING FOR FIVE DAYS, MAYBE – A portion of Industrial Highway in Pottstown will be closed beginning today (Monday, Aug. 7, 2017) so the borough can install “storm water piping and backflow prevention valves” to help reduce flooding in the area, according to a notice posted on its website. Although the closure was announced online as lasting from Aug. 7-10, electronic signage on Moser Road at the borough and Lower Pottsgrove Township boundary (above) reports the delay as Aug. 7-12. In either case, part of Industrial between Moser and South Hanover Street will be unavailable until the work is complete. Detour routes will be marked, the borough said. Similar work is expected to begin, also today, on South Washington Street between Laurel Street and Industrial, it added.
