LOWER POTTSGROVE PA – Non-union classified employees in the Pottsgrove School District would receive a 2-1/2-percent hourly wage increase during the 2017-2018 school year under a proposal recommended by Superintendent Dr. William Shirk and offered for consideration by the district Board of School Directors during its meeting tonight (Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2017).
The district’s “Classified Employee Compensation Rates” apply to positions that include non-certified nurses, intervention tutors, building aides, in-school support monitors, instructional assistants, library assistants, student assistants, and duty aides. They generally are paid within ranges based on the number of years in their positions, and levels of skill or certification.
The highest hourly wage presented by the administration in a compensation table shown as part of tonight’s agenda is listed at $25.38; the lowest, $12.34.
The board meeting is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. in the district office conference room, 1301 Kauffman Rd. It is free to attend and open to the public. A copy of the agenda is available for download from the district website, here. Board members are expected to meet in executive session to discuss personnel issues at 7:15 p.m., before the regular meeting, the agenda states.
Also on the agenda, the board will be asked to approve an updated use of facilities policy that corrects two earlier clerical errors. Several personnel matters also are included for board approval, as well as potential acceptance of contractual agreements in anticipation of the new school year.
