Funeral For Beloved Chief May Affect Traffic

LOWER POTTSGROVE PA – A funeral procession for beloved Ringing Hill Fire Company life member and former Chief Joseph Tascione III, who died Sunday (Aug. 27, 2017), may result in a local road closure and traffic restrictions today (Friday, Sept. 1) in Lower Pottsgrove Township, its police department warned on Facebook.

A temporary closure of Buchert Road, between North Valley Road and North Adams Street, and other restrictions may occur from 12:30-2 p.m., according to the notice. The funeral procession along Buchert, to and from St. Aloysius Cemetery where Tascione will be buried, may create backups and delays, it added.

Drivers are urged to be patient, and if possible to find alternate routes during the period.

Chief Tascione’s Obituary Offered

In addition to his devotion to the fire company, Tascione was a former employee of Firestone Tire and Rubber Company until its closing, and retired from the maintenance department of the Montgomery County Housing Authority after 28 years of service.
