PRESENTING IN LOWER FREDERICK TOWNSHIP – At most run-of-the-mill meetings of the Lower Frederick Township Board Of Supervisors, engineer Carol Schuehler (at top, standing near the chart) of Cedarville Engineering Group LLC in Pottstown talks in a conference room filled with no more than 10 people, and often fewer. She found herself Tuesday (Sept. 5, 2017) facing a municipal building meeting room filled to capacity with more than 175 sitting and standing local residents (below), eager to learn more about a board proposal to create a zoning overlay district that would allow higher density housing construction in a limited portion of the township. The crowd was interested, polite, and reserved as Schuehler offered a brief history of the zoning law and pending development projects, and explained how the zoning proposal might work. Then supervisors took comments and questions for about two hours. The vast majority of those in the room opposed the new district; board members decided, for now, not to act on it.
