Seven Area Residents Graduate As State Troopers

HERSHEY PA – One resident of Montgomery County, four from Berks County, and two from Chester County all were among 90 cadets who graduated Friday (Sept. 8, 2017) from the State Police Academy in Hershey, Pennsylvania State Police Commissioner Tyree C. Blocker announced. Of them, two have been assigned to Troop K, charged with law enforcement coverage in Montgomery, Delaware and Philadelphia counties.

The area graduates are Ryan J. Tierney of Montgomery County; Shareef Mays, Christopher M. Fritz, Corey T. Heimbach, and Jonathan T. Lear of Berks County; and Jeremy W. Houser and Justin W. Walton of Chester County.

Tierney and Mays will work were assigned to Troop K in its Philadelphia headquarters. Fritz will join the Troop H barracks in Newport PA; Heimbach and Lear, Troop H in York; Houser, Troop J in Lancaster; and Walton, Troop P in Towanda.

The commencement ceremony at Bishop McDevitt High School, 1 Crusader Way, Harrisburg PA, marked the end of 27 weeks of classroom and physical training.
