High School Board Members See Greater Roles

High School Board Members See Greater RolesLOOKING TO EXPAND THEIR ROLES – Savannah Lear (at top, left) and Mason McIntyre, Pottsgrove High School junior and senior representatives, respectively, to the Pottsgrove Board of School Directors, said Tuesday (Sept 12, 2017) they hoped to expand their roles in the new academic year to be of greater help to the school board. “We’d like to step out and do more,” McIntyre explained, by visiting Pottsgrove’s other school buildings on a consistent basis and holding discussions there to gather and report on feedback for directors. Their goal, the pair said, is to keep board members better informed on what students are thinking and saying. McIntyre has already served a year in his position; Lear noted she was just getting started and added, “I don’t know what I’m doing yet,” with a smile. Director Rick Rabinowitz was quick to joke: “Some of us have been here for years,” he said, “and we don’t know what we’re doing yet either.”
