LOWER POTTSGROVE PA – Work to be conducted by contractors for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation on various segments of U.S. Route 422, between Route 202 on the east end and Route 724 on the west, is anticipated to slow traffic Sunday through next Saturday (Oct. 15-21, 2017), according to several news releases from the agency. Here’s what it anticipates:
Week-long bridge work in Valley Forge
Bridge demolition and construction are expected to create overnight lane closures with periodic 15-minute traffic stoppages from Sunday through Friday (Oct. 15-20) from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. on eastbound 422 between Route 363 and U.S. 202; and during the same set of nights from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. on westbound 422 between 202 and 363.
Large sign maintenance ahead
Drivers will encounter intermittent single and double overnight lane closures from Monday through Saturday (Oct. 16-21) from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for large sign maintenance operations on 422 east and west between the 202 and Route 23 interchanges.
Two days of bridge work in Lower Pottsgrove
Westbound 422 drivers will encounter a right-lane closure for bridge construction Tuesday and Wednesday (Oct. 17-18) from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily between its Sanatoga and Route 724 interchanges in Lower Pottsgrove Township.
Drivers should allow additional time for travel in all construction zones, PennDOT said. Backups will occur, it warned. Contractors’ schedules depend on the weather.
