LOWER POTTSGROVE PA – Students attending Lower Pottsgrove Elementary School, who need or want extra help learning skills and concepts, will receive it during the academic year under the building’s four-month after-school tutoring program. It is scheduled to operate from Dec. 4 (2017) through March 21 (2018), and was approved last Tuesday (Oct. 24) by the Board of School Directors.
Staffing for the program allows teachers to offer individualized instruction in small group settings. Directors approved a list of 17 current Pottsgrove employees, compensated at a rate of $34 hourly, to work as program coordinators and tutors.
The list includes Math Coordinator Sharon Yergey, Reading Coordinator Brenda Novak, regular tutors Lisa Cullin, Gretchen Reppert, Maria Leidy, Janice Lawless, Erik Sawchuk, Mary Savarese, Joshua Noel, Amy Miller, Veronica Lightcap, Tamara Young, Colleen Ryan, and Brandy Nice; and substitute tutors Nancy Cortez, Heather Michaels, and Robin Scouton.
