DUI Alleged In Hanover Street Off-Ramp Crash

NORTH COVENTRY PA – A Spring City man was arrested for driving under the influence Wednesday (Nov. 1, 2017) on a U.S. Route 422 off-ramp, following his involvement in a two-vehicle crash, the North Coventry Police Department reported.

John-Neumann Gallagher, 41, whose Spring City home address was not supplied, was charged with DUI and related offenses after police investigated the accident that occurred at about 12:26 p.m. on the 422 westbound exit to South Hanover Street.

Gallagher told police he was traveling down the ramp in his vehicle while looking for his cell phone, and did not see the second car, driven by Kristina Dejesus, stopped at the intersection. His vehicle rear-ended the one driven by Dejesus. There were no reports of injuries, or of the extent of damage to either vehicle.

Police said their investigation prompted them to suspect “Gallagher was operating his vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.” After his arrest, he was “transported to the Pottstown Hospital where he submitted to a blood test,” they added.

Gallagher was processed and released to a sober adult pending a preliminary hearing in Magisterial District Court, according to the report.
