Nuclear Drill Participants Endured A Busy Night

PLANNING AND PREPARING FOR THE WORST – First-responder volunteers from across western Montgomery County including crews in Lower Pottsgrove, and the county Emergency Operations Center in Eagleville PA (at top and below), were kept busy Tuesday (Nov. 14, 2017) with the biennial Limerick Nuclear Generating Station preparedness drill staged by federal and state emergency management agencies. Among many participating partners were the Pennsylvania State Police, American Red Cross Eastern Pennsylvania Region, the county Health Department, and the county Critical Incident Stress Management Team. In Sanatoga, several members of Lower Pottsgrove’s Emergency Management Team – headed by Ray Lopez and Eric Linsenbigler – kept late hours within the conference room of the township municipal building on Buchert Road. Preliminary official results from the drill are expected to be announced Friday morning (Nov. 17) during a meeting in Collegeville.
