Fire hydrant work gets under way on Tuesday
LOWER POTTSGROVE PA – A portion of Bleim Road in Lower Pottsgrove will be closed Tuesday (Nov. 21, 2017) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to all traffic, so construction crews can install fire hydrants that will serve the Spring Valley Farms housing community at Bleim and North Pleasant View roads.
The community is in the first of what are expected to be four construction stages. Engineers representing the township said workers have made significant progress installing water and storm and sanitary sewer pipe for the project. Bleim Road was closed earlier for pipe laying, and then was re-opened.
Also, PECO will install a gas main through early January
Additionally, utility supplier PECO is planning weekday travel restrictions Monday and Tuesday (Nov. 20-21), and Nov. 27 (Monday) through early January from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily for the installation of a natural gas main on North Pleasant View Road between Donna Lane and Bleim Road; and during the same periods on Bleim Road between North Pleasant View Road and the new entrance to the community, Spring Valley Road.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, which announced the restrictions, said PECO would conduct its operations under a highway occupancy permit it authorized. Drivers were cautioned to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas. All scheduled activities depend on the weather.
