POTTSTOWN PA – Eastbound and westbound U.S. 422 across a portion of the Pottstown area will be closed and detoured for several nights next week for barrier installation related to highway construction through West Pottsgrove, North Coventry, and Douglass townships, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced.
- Eastbound 422 will be closed and detoured Tuesday through Thursday (Nov. 28-30) overnight, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., from the split with Benjamin Franklin Highway in Douglass Township to Route 100 in North Coventry. Eastbound drivers will be directed to continue on Benjamin Franklin Highway and High Street, then turn right on Route 100 South to access the ramp to eastbound 422; and
- Westbound 422 will be closed and detoured from next Friday through the following Monday (Dec. 1-4) overnight, also from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., from Route 100 to the split with Benjamin Franklin Highway. Drivers will be directed to take Route 100 North, and High Street and Benjamin Franklin Highway to access westbound 422.
Allow extra time when traveling near the work area overnight, PennDOT warned drivers, because backups will occur. All scheduled activities depend on the weather.
