Festival Features Trail Hunt, Box Stacking, CraftsUPPER POTTSGROVE PA – Visitors explored a trail and found items on a Christmas scavenger hunt, created tree ornaments (above), crawled through a white balloon igloo, decorated cupcakes, and – of course! – met with Santa Claus on Saturday (Dec. 2, 2017) during the Winter Festival at Althouse Arboretum on Gilbertsville Road. Dozens of children and their parents arrived by the ferry busload for the fun.

The event was conducted by the Green Allies organization and the Pottsgrove High School Spark The Wave club. A large contingent of high school students guided guests to each activity, and helped some in stacking gift boxes above their heads (at top), tying a ribbon (left), finding the right shade of glitter, or uncovering hidden trail-side treasures.
