LOWER POTTSGROVE PA – U.S. Route 422 drivers will encounter right-lane closures Thursday and Friday (Dec. 14-15, 2017) across a portion of the highway in Lower Pottsgrove as a contractor installs signs there, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said.
The work agenda of general contractor J.D. Eckman Inc. of Atglen is set for:
- Thursday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., when the right lane is scheduled to close on westbound 422 between the Sanatoga and Route 724 interchanges; and
- Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., when the right lane is scheduled to close on eastbound 422 between the Keim Street and Sanatoga interchanges.
The work is part of the $73.3 million project to rebuild 1.6 miles of U.S. 422 and construct new structures over the Schuylkill River and Norfolk Southern railroad tracks. The entire project is scheduled to finish in fall 2018.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time, and obey speed limits, when traveling 422 through the work areas. All activities depend on the weather.
