SANATOGA PA – Gatsby’s, the popular restaurant and bar at the SunnyBrook event center, 50 N. Sunnybrook Rd., will remain closed through Feb. 6 (2018; Tuesday) while construction workers fix damage created by a water pipe that burst just days after a partying crowd welcomed the new year there.
Like other area businesses and municipalities that dealt with pipes frozen and broken in the recent spell of extremely cold weather, an interruption at Gatsby’s “hasn’t been an ideal way to start off the year,” SunnyBrook President Chuck Gulati said. His good news: the ballroom at SunnyBrook and other event spaces were not affected by the pipe burst and remain available.
This weekend, for example, SunnyBrook is playing host to “The Battle On The Border (at right).” It’s a wrestling competition between, and features musical and arts performances from, the Pottstown and Pottsgrove School Districts.
Meanwhile, Gatsby’s staff is making the best of an unfortunate situation, Gulati added. The closure is allowing it to revamp the restaurant menu and offerings. When it re-opens, new and returning guests will see several new menu and beverage items. More entertainment is planned, and management is using the opportunity to “enhance the dining experience” by installing a new raw bar.
“Winter may have been cold to us, but we are just warming up,” Gulati said.
