SANATOGA PA – A fuel-fed vehicle fire reported Saturday (Feb. 3, 2018) at 9:37 p.m. in the Woodgate housing community near Shire Drive and Tanglewood Court was extinguished by the Sanatoga Fire Company, with assistance from the Ringing Hill and Limerick fire companies, Sanatoga volunteers said. No injuries were reported.
Hot-burning blue, yellow, and white flames could be seen from some Sanatoga Road homes west of the site, one witness said.
The Sanatoga company report, posted to its Facebook page, said Lower Pottsgrove police arriving earlier at the scene found “the vehicle fully involved after rolling down the street and coming to rest in the (Tanglewood Court) cul-de-sac.”
A Sanatoga crew hosed down the bulk of the flames, it said, and then discovered “a fuel leak from the rear of the vehicle, causing several gallons of fuel to spill into the street.” Other Sanatoga firefighters placed additional hoses on the flames to contain them, while a tanker from Ringing Hill and an engine from Limerick supplied water to the scene.
