Icy Roads Delay Some Monday School Openings

LOWER POTTSGROVE PA – Reports of icy road conditions prompted the Pottsgrove, Pottstown, Spring-Ford Area, and Perkiomen Valley school districts to call for a two-hour delay in opening their buildings Monday (Feb. 5, 2018). The Boyertown Area School District had not issued a similar call as of Monday at 5:30 a.m.

Additionally:

  • Perkiomen Valley stated “there will be no morning vo-tech school. Kindergarten students will follow a modified schedule, with morning kindergarten attending from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and afternoon kindergarten attending from 1:30 to 3:15 p.m.”
  • Pottstown reminded parents and guardians that “breakfast is not served on a 2-hour delay.”
  • Spring-Ford said its “AM and PM Kindergarten students will follow a modified schedule,” with morning kindergarten to arrive at 10:45 a.m., and be held from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.; and afternoon kindergarten to arrive at 1:45 p.m., and to be held 1:355-3:40 p.m.
