Corbett Budget Would Give Pottsgrove Schools More Money

It’s only a preliminary estimate, but Pottsgrove Business Manager David Nester believes the school district emerged from Gov. Tom Corbett’s budget address Thursday (Feb. 7, 2012) in slightly better shape than he expected. Nester told The (Pottstown PA) Mercury that Pottsgrove next year may receive about $100,000 more in state funding than this year. Not all’s rosy, though; the district may pay more for future hires, he said.

LOWER POTTSGROVE — With news that Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett has proposed level funding for public schools in his 2013 budget, Pottsgrove Business Manager David Nester breathed a sigh of relief. In fact, the district will get “a little more, about $100,000” than the current year under Corbett’s proposal, he said.
