Pottsgrove Seniors Eligible For Arts Awards, But Hurry

POTTSTOWN PA – High school seniors interested in a career in the arts have a little, but not much more, breathing room in which to apply for a college scholarship.

The application deadline for an arts scholarship offered by the Greater Pottstown Foundation, open to seniors from Pottsgrove, Pottstown, and Owen J. Roberts high schools, as well as from The Hill School, has been extended through Saturday (May 7, 2011) until the 3 p.m. close of business at The Gallery School of Pottstown, 254 High St., Pottstown PA.

A complete prospectus and application is available for download from the Gallery School website, here.

The scholarship is intended to financially assist a qualified applicant in obtaining a degree from accredited academic institutions of higher learning for a study in the arts. It is awarded based on a scholarship essay, as well as on merit as measured by artistic performance at the Greater Pottstown Foundation Senior High School Art Exhibit at the Gallery School of Pottstown. The applicant’s intended field of study must include a major in an arts-related field.

Qualified applicants will be contacted individually about delivering their artwork for the upcoming scholarship art show.
