Damage across Montgomery County from Hurricane Sandy last October wasn’t of sufficient value to warrant reimbursing municipalities for some emergency management costs. Lower Pottsgrove had prepared documentation in hopes of recouping some expenses.

Club Food Drive A Success At Lower Pottsgrove School

Some PA Polling Places Powerless After Hurricane Sandy

About 250 of 9,000 voting booth locations across the state still lack electrical power knocked out by the storm, The Pennsylvania Independent reports. Utilities are predicting they’ll all be up-and-running by Monday.

State’s Pension Fund Unsure If Sandy Hurt Its Investment

Retirement monies on which Pottsgrove, Pottstown and Spring-Ford Area school employees depend were invested in part in a hedge fund that bet against a storm like Hurricane Sandy. A PSERS spokesperson said the fund doubted it lost money, but could not yet be sure.
